The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in 2008 with the aim of importing high quality technical education in the area of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with an intake of 60. Six batches of students have been graduated so far. The pure expertise and dedication of the faculty members along with infrastructural facilities coupled with perseverance of the students have catapulted the branch to the top league. The department has a student forum TESLA for conducting career developing interpersonal and intrapersonal skills of students. It organizes Seminars, Quiz Programmes, Industrial Visits, Paper Contests, Group Discussions, Guest Lectures, Career Guidance, and Games etc under its auspices. TESLA also organizes Technical Exhibitions for benefit of local public.

The primitive motto of the department is to build the talent for the future to meet limitless opportunities. The department also wants to bridge the gap between academia and industry. In association with Leading Industries we offer Technical training and hands on experience in emerging technologies. Academic performance is not lesser to meet competition. Our products are well received by the industry and are represented in all top companies in India and also in foreign universities. We believe that the department has with its experienced and committed faculty, the capacity and the ability to emerge as significant player in the global competition. Continuing this tradition we are committed to constantly forge ahead to greater heights to make India a Super Power in the knowledge era.

Department Laboratories

  • Electrical Machines Lab
  • To expose the students to the operation of D.C and A.C machines and transformers and give them experimental skill.

  • Power Electronics Laboratory
  • To provide hands on experience with power electronic converter design and testing.

  • Electronics Laboratory
  • To enable the students to understand the behavior of semiconductor device based on experimentation.

  • Control and Instrumentation Laboratory
  • To provide knowledge on analysis and design of control system along with basics of instrumentation.

  • Power System Simulation laboratory
  • To provide better understanding of power system analysis through digital simulation.

  • Linear integrated circuits Laboratory
  • Working Practice in simulators / CAD Tools / Experiment test bench to learn design, testing and characterizing of circuit behaviour with digital and analog ICs.

  • Microprocessor and Microcontroller Laboratory
  • To provide training on programming of microprocessors and microcontrollers and understand the interface requirements.

  • Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering proudly presents an Intra –College Level Project Expo TRIGGER’17 on 6th March 2017. Students from various departments were actively participated and share their knowledge in the recent trends.
  • Department of EEE has conducted a technical event GENERO’17 for first year students on 7th and 8th March at Newton Hall. Mrs. S.Rakkammal/ASP/EEE and Miss R.S.Priyaa Dharshini/AP/EEE were coordinate the Events.
  • 23 Students from Third Year and Final year EEE has attended “SIEMENS BASIC AUTOMATION TRAINING ON PLC” from 22.08.2016 to 26.08.2016.
  • 43 students from II year EEE and 03 faculty from department of EEE were visited the plant on 09.02.2017. Wilspun renewables (Noida) has signed a power purchase agreement with the Tamilnadu generation and distribution corporation (TANGEDCO) for setting up a 100MW solar project in the state. It was located near Musiri.
  • The ENERGY CLUB was inaugurated on 17.08.2016 by Mrs.M.Jaya Josephine, Senior Manager, Technical Training and Development centre,TANGEDCO,Trichy.
  • Energy club organizes,PCRA sponsored One Day Seminar on “Energy Conservation &Efficiency” on 02-03.2017 .Around 80 students and 8 faculty were attended that seminar .Kamaraja from II Year /EEE attended a Three Day- Residential-Student Workshop Jointly developed by Aidvision and PALS offered to students from PALS Partner Institutes at the Student Activity Center (SAC),IITM


  • Prof S. Rajasekaran Hod / EEE secured “ELITE” in the online NPTEL course titled “Introduction to Research”.
  • Prof S. Rajasekaran Hod / EEE secured “ELITE” in the online NPTEL course titled “Emotional Intelligence”.
  • P.Premkumar IV year/EEE and G.Vinith IV year /EEE got placed in IDBI Federal Life Insurance Co.Ltd.
  • N.Sanjai III year/EEE and S.Vigneshwaran IV year/EEE got Internship in Shree Renga Polymers, Karur.
  • N.Priyadharshini III year/EEE and S.Abinaya II year/EEE scored more than 8.5 CGPA in Anna University Examination.
  • II year students/EEE won First and second prize in mini project at Indra ganesan college of Engineering on 11-03-2017
  • 1st prize by Tamilmaran team with cash prize of 1500, 2nd prize by Dhanavel team with cash prize of 750
